If possible, the tutor should bring in a nutcracker or a picture of a nutcracker. Ask the student if they’ve ever seen The Nutcracker, and tell them about your experience if you have seen it. After reading, the student can share any experiences they’ve had in a play or school production. Older students can use the Nutcracker fill in the blank activity. Younger students might utilize the Nutcracker Shape Count activity page.
