Utilize this session plan over three sessions with the student. In the first session, read chapter 1. Review the definitions for the seven smart words. Use a Venn diagram to compare polar bears to penguins. In the second session, review the previous week using a memory matching game. Read chapter 2, using an index card to create a postcard of one of the photos. In session three, play a matching with the definitions to the smart words. Read chapter 3 and write reasons that “aye-aye” appears using smart words.
