Ask the student if they know the story of Little Red Riding Hood. If not, briefly tell the story. Tell them today’s story is a spin-off of the classic story. Read and ask questions to make predictions and check comprehension. Use the Be the Editor sheet and assist student in being the editor. Find the rhyming words in Little Red’s Thank You Notes. Write on sticky notes and find the rhyming pattern. Play a matching game with the words. Keep the words in the journal for future review.
