Explain that the book is about a young boy named George who is a pen pal with a dragon named Blaise. They write each other about events in their lives, but they do not know that one is a dragon, and the other is a human. As you are reading, have the student discuss how George and Blaise are similar and different. Help the student write/draw/articulate how each character displayed determination. Suggestions are provided on how to divide this lesson into two Oasis tutoring sessions.
