In this session plan, tutors can help students talk about what around them appears to dance and the use of their imagination. There are terms and phrases in the book, i.e., sassy, “dancing to her own music,” that may be new to them. The social-emotional conversations with your student include the topics of courage and determination. There is an optional geography lesson for students when using a world map, students can find the countries of the dancers listed in the story.
