Show your student the Venn Diagram. After printing your name on the top left, the student’s name on the top right, and ‘Both’ in the middle, talk about how you and your student are alike, and write those words in the center. Then, discuss and label your distinctive characteristics. While reading, discuss how the characters in the book are alike and different. After reading the entire book, revisit page 22. Make a list of things that will help you and your student be better friends with other people (listen to each other, explain what you do and don’t like, etc.). Help your student find and color the verbs in the list (explain, listen, etc.).
