Session plan for interest level: K, 1, 2

Learn about seeds then plant a cup garden to watch grow week-by-week!

Students discuss the way seeds travel. This book follows a tiny seed as it travels in the wind, survives through the seasons, germinates in the spring and grows a flower, producing more tiny seeds. Students plant seeds in cup garden.

Read the book together and discuss how seeds are spread. There is a background sheet attached to the session plan. Using the materials brought to the session by the tutor, read the instructions and plant a garden together using fast-growing seeds. Then watch the seeds’ progress each week at future sessions.
